I’m a designer at work, but outside of it, I’m usually chasing sunsets, wandering through new places, or looking for the perfect mountain view. I love turning what I see into visuals that tell a story.
So....Yashwin, who?
I was born and brought up in a small hill town called Coonoor in the Nilgiris. Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of the hills, I felt a strong connection to the place. I wanted to capture that beauty and share it with others so they could see the world the way I saw it.
That passion led me to start clicking pictures and creating visuals from a young age, and that’s when my design sense naturally began to develop during my teenage years.
Later, I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Visual communication and 3D animation. I started my career as an animator and graphic designer. But soon, while working in my first organization, I came across a product they were building, and their product team. That’s when I got introduced to product design, or UX. What attracted me most was how UX could make a real impact to the world and people through the work we do. That’s how my journey as a product designer started five years ago.
For me, design is not just about empathy for users but also about understanding the business side. I focus on creating simple, usable, and intelligent designs rather than flashy visuals that don’t add value. Over the years, I’ve worked to design and build products in different domains like FinTech, EdTech, Real Estate, and AdTech, gaining experience and growing as a designer.
